Mumbai: Vicky Kaushal and director Aditya Dhar are working together once again after the huge box office success of ‘Uri’. But this time both of them decided to come together for a film on a mythological theme of ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’.
With the announcement of this film two years ago, the pre-production of the film was also being worked on vigorously. In such a situation, after the relaxation of the restrictions related to Corona, when news should have come about the shooting of this film, then a bad news related to the film has come to the fore.
film on hold
The news of the closure of Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan starrer ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’ has been a topic of discussion. In such a situation, when ABP News talked to a source associated with the film, he did not say anything clearly about the film being shelved. But the source definitely told ABP News, “The film has been put on hold indefinitely for the time being.” When asked the reasons for doing so, the source said, “At present it is not possible to give any further details.”
ABP News also spoke to a well-known trade expert of Bollywood about this new development regarding ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’. He said, “The reports of the film being shelved are true. At a time when the restrictions related to shooting have been removed and shooting of all the films is going on indiscriminately, it was expected that ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’ will be released. Shooting will pick up pace. In such a situation, there is no point in putting the film on hold. The film has been shelved.”
Reason being considered as increasing budget
So why did producer Ronnie Screwvala, who produced ‘Uri’, think of not making his most ambitious film ever after so much preparation? Its ever-increasing budget is being told as the main reason for the closure of the film. It has also been said that at the planning and pre-production stage, the budget of ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’ was thought to be made, the budget of the film was increasing continuously and Ronnie was not ready to take such a risk.
